[ He's not spoken to Megumi since he has tried to apologize to him. It's odd that Megumi is reaching out to him this time around, but Toji can't ignore it. ]
[ It's been so, so awkward since they last spoke, and it's been eating Megumi from the inside out. He's been trying his best not to care about it, to just go about his day. What does it matter if they argued, and now his father has gone dead silent? What does it matter if his father tried to mend their relationship, and Megumi callously shut him down for it? None of those things should matter. Yet, it's been on Megumi's mind this whole time and he's been unable to stop thinking about it.
If only he could express how he actually feels, that he's thought about it ... and he appreciates that Toji tried to reach out. That Toji actually cares about him.
But the response sounds so curt that it causes Megumi to go on the defensive right away. ]

[ It’s not like Toji is the most graceful person when it comes to having a conversation either, but like Megumi, he’s been thinking a lot about how they argued and then left it with no closure. In the back of his mind, he is hoping that Megumi would text him, so to have him reaching out and then changing his mind makes him scoff and.. well, also get defensive.
[ which is just about the most age appropriate thing Megumi has ever said, as a 16 year old. now -- now that he actually has to express himself instead of escaping the conversation, he's completely stumped on what to say. ]
[ Toji’s natural reaction is to continue to be rude to Megumi, but for a moment, he recognizes a similarity between the both of them— how hard it is for them to admit their true feelings about things. Toji sighs on the other line, a hand lifting to idly rub at his eyebrow. ]

Well, yeah, I was trying to enjoy my book and you turned my night upside down.
[ But ... he can recognise his father's effort, and in response to that, he decides to put in some effort as well. He should calm himself down. There's a sigh. If only they could both see how similar they look right now. ]
[ From then, Megumi doesn't get a response back and Toji makes his way towards the library. He takes his time, somewhat dreading this conversation, but then again, it was him who initiated it first. It's taken him a lot of time to realize just how wrong he was for being such an absent parent, but he didn't really know how to be a good parent without someone else's positive influence.
But.. he has Yor, now, and Toji is becoming more and more aware just how obsessed he is with her. It helps that she's a very kind and motherly person naturally.
Before Toji realizes it, he's in the library, and he stays near the entrance of it, not really looking at a book he has picked up, but trying to look interested and.. as normal as possible with all of this. ]
