I'll admit, I don't really know. It's a curse, it doesn't need to eat to survive. Before bringing it here, I actually didn't know what it looked like. Nobody can see curses besides those with a lot of cursed energy themselves.. who know how to control it.
For me, I never had cursed energy. I had to train other ways to be able to sense them. Feel them. But I never saw this guy in his whole form. Not until bringing it here altered it.. somehow.
[ She listens quietly, and her eyes close automatically the longer she basks in his touch. She leans into him, content, with her hand rising up to rest comfortably on his wrist. Really, she could listen to him talk for hours despite not knowing anything at all about curses or cursed energy. His voice is soothing in that way. ]
It seems happy. So even if you couldn't see it before, you did well to raise it!
[ But raising a child? Toji knew he could never be a good father to a child, not with his wife already deceased. That’s why he ran away from Megumi and all of the responsibility with it. He figured that leaving Megumi with Zenin was going to be the best for him. After all, he knew Megumi would have the kind of powers that Zenin sought after.
His voice lowers, as if he doesn’t want Yor to hear. ]
[ Yor watches his face with her head tilted and face marred with concern. His history with his son is complicated. Imperfect. Though really, that's putting it mildly. He must've messed up a lot in the past, but if Megumi will still give him the time of day, perhaps...they can do better? Together, they can mend things. Little by little? ]
I...I'm not a good parent either! A-Anya would complain about my cooking all the time, she punched a little boy in the face because of my bad advice, and sometimes she would get lost or kidnapped because I wasn't looking! Not to mention I ruined her stuffed penguin trying to patch it after Bond ripped it up!
[ Oh, she's...she's rambling again. Ugh, how can she turn this around! ]
S-So...I can't judge you for any shortcomings. Instead, we can...we can learn together, okay? If you want to.
[ In her head, she thinks it's clear she's talking about Megumi. Trying to bond with him again, and hey, maybe they can practice "raising" the worm?? To boost his confidence that he'll be able to do better going forward! And to boost her own as well. ]
[ So.. they're both bad parents, huh? Toji can't help but smile fondly as Yor starts talking and rambling. She's spouting off some things that Toji could maybe relate to, but only recently since he's come to terms about things regarding Megumi. ]
... I wanna do everything together with you, Yor. It doesn't matter what it is. Though, I cannot imagine you being a bad parent.. or a bad person. Whatever you want to do, I'll follow you. You just tell me.
[ He should smile more, she thinks. His happy smiles are so warm, so cute. Each one makes her heart thump a little bit harder. She doesn't hesitate and holds both her hands over one of his with a giggly grin on her face. ]
Then we will! We can do everything side-by-side from now on. For as long as you'll have me.
We can improve our parenting with the curse and see how we feel later.
[ about.. what.. about.... having their own children????????? who knows.. ]
It doesn't need a lot of care as it doesn't need to eat or anything like that, but maybe you have some ways of making it.. less miserable. It's a curse, after all. They're kind of always miserable in one way or another.
[ She looks at the worm again and another wave of guilt hits her. Here she was so unnerved by its appearance when it's been suffering this whole time?! How could she be so cruel?? ]
Ah, poor thing.
[ But! The misery of the curse worm does renew her vigor, and she leans over to hug both Toji and the worm. ]
We'll do a great job, I'm sure! In fact, I promise!
