[ He's not going to cough up the thing right away, but instead, he will give her a little idea of what it is and some information first so she isn't completely blindsided. ]
That's a cursed spirit. It's special and has a pact with me. When I knew such a spirit like that existed, I looked everywhere for it. When it came here with me, it became more physical. Apparently everyone can see it now. Do you want to get a closer look at it? Get acquainted with it? It's been with me for a very long time.
[ Yor is quiet as he speaks, with careful nods and her hands resting comfortably in her lap. She can't lie, she does have some reservations about seeing that worm again. Especially since it's, well, a worm. And a big one at that? And didn't it have a really weird face?!
...but at the same time, it clearly means quite a lot to Toji. A "cursed" spirit that he's been friends(?) with for a long, long time. She should do her best not to get freaked out if he summons it. She can do that much! For him!! ]
I'm usually not good with insects or squirmy things, but-! [ She nods, grinning widely in determination. ] I want to see your friend! Does it have a name?
[ She has no idea what she is getting into, does she?
It's about now that he does the thing, his tummy hitching and tensing as he pukes up the thing, covered in bile and spit, right into his palm. Oddly, he seems to do this effortlessly, as if that wasn't difficult for him to do. After all, he's got plenty of practice.
The creature uncurls from its little ball in his hand and it expands until it's full grown, wrapping around Toji with what seems to be a pretty happy smile, a small, warbling noise emitting from it. ]
Kinda cute, right?
[ says the guy who sells his only son and dotes on.. this atrocious looking thing. ]
[ Yor didn't know what to expect or where the worm was going to come from and figured it might be something weird. Like maybe sleight of hand or something. When Toji's stomach starts to cave and heave, alarm tenses every muscle and nerve ending in her body. ]
[ YOR. Yor Briar. Stay with us, girl. Focus. This is Toji!! Toji and his pet??? worm. Worm friend. Friend worm. It clearly means a lot to him, so you cannot get grossed out! Especially not after hyping him up to show you in the first place!
So, Yor mentally shakes off the shock and laughs awkwardly. With her voice pitching up an octave or two. ]
Y-Yeah! Yeah, I can.
[ Okay, okay, ooooooooooookay, she can do this. It's not that difficult. How hard is it to pet a creature? It's obviously docile! Still, her hand is shaking as she reaches out and
Very lightly rests it on the worm's head. It's weird, cooing, baby-faced head. ]
[ and yeah, the curse does make a little croaking, cooing noise. Kind of like purring but not. ]
It has the ability to hide weapons and other things inside of its body. When I learned that, I went on a search to find it to aid in my assassination work. I don’t have cursed techniques, but I have many cursed weapons. Using it has made fighting much easier for me.
[ Toji leans forward, grinning crookedly at Yor. He’s naturally smiling, but sometimes when he smiles.. he looks just a little unhinged. ]
This little guy holds all those? Really? [ Just like that, she snaps out of her "ew" phase and looks from the worm to him and back again. She smiles a little easier and gives the worm a little pat. ] What a helpful little thing you are!
[ Toji's smile draws her attention more the next moment, but her own grin stays just as wide, just as bright. ]
You're very clever, Toji! And a good trainer, too!
[ Honestly, he was a little nervous about how Yor would respond to such a grotesque thing, but like always, Yor surprises him and gives him the unexpected response. She’s an assassin, so surely she understands the value of keeping a portable hammer space like the curse around.
The curse starts purring again, used to this coddling attention from Toji. Maybe that’s part of the way he trained it. ]
T.. Thanks.
[ He can’t really scoff and tsun at Yor anymore since he’s come to term with his feelings, but he does look away for a moment. ]
It can hide a whole body in the inside, then disappear back into my stomach.
[ another fun fact that he thinks she could understand. ]
[ That's beyond useful! She can think of so many times she could've used a weird little worm friend too. Though her body count might really stress the limits for how many it could store, perhaps. ]
And it doesn't cause you any tummy trouble to keep it there? Oh, what about stomach acid? Does it eat what you eat? Or does it just hibernate?
[ She is now past the "ew" phase entirely in favor of the intrusive questions phase. Sorry, Toji. ]
[ Toji cannot help but give her a soft looking smile, reaching over to simply take her by the chin and run his thumb over her cheek. A gentle touch that is just.. touch.. because he wanted to feel her some way. ]
I'll admit, I don't really know. It's a curse, it doesn't need to eat to survive. Before bringing it here, I actually didn't know what it looked like. Nobody can see curses besides those with a lot of cursed energy themselves.. who know how to control it.
For me, I never had cursed energy. I had to train other ways to be able to sense them. Feel them. But I never saw this guy in his whole form. Not until bringing it here altered it.. somehow.
[ She listens quietly, and her eyes close automatically the longer she basks in his touch. She leans into him, content, with her hand rising up to rest comfortably on his wrist. Really, she could listen to him talk for hours despite not knowing anything at all about curses or cursed energy. His voice is soothing in that way. ]
It seems happy. So even if you couldn't see it before, you did well to raise it!
[ But raising a child? Toji knew he could never be a good father to a child, not with his wife already deceased. That’s why he ran away from Megumi and all of the responsibility with it. He figured that leaving Megumi with Zenin was going to be the best for him. After all, he knew Megumi would have the kind of powers that Zenin sought after.
His voice lowers, as if he doesn’t want Yor to hear. ]
[ Yor watches his face with her head tilted and face marred with concern. His history with his son is complicated. Imperfect. Though really, that's putting it mildly. He must've messed up a lot in the past, but if Megumi will still give him the time of day, perhaps...they can do better? Together, they can mend things. Little by little? ]
I...I'm not a good parent either! A-Anya would complain about my cooking all the time, she punched a little boy in the face because of my bad advice, and sometimes she would get lost or kidnapped because I wasn't looking! Not to mention I ruined her stuffed penguin trying to patch it after Bond ripped it up!
[ Oh, she's...she's rambling again. Ugh, how can she turn this around! ]
S-So...I can't judge you for any shortcomings. Instead, we can...we can learn together, okay? If you want to.
[ In her head, she thinks it's clear she's talking about Megumi. Trying to bond with him again, and hey, maybe they can practice "raising" the worm?? To boost his confidence that he'll be able to do better going forward! And to boost her own as well. ]
[ So.. they're both bad parents, huh? Toji can't help but smile fondly as Yor starts talking and rambling. She's spouting off some things that Toji could maybe relate to, but only recently since he's come to terms about things regarding Megumi. ]
... I wanna do everything together with you, Yor. It doesn't matter what it is. Though, I cannot imagine you being a bad parent.. or a bad person. Whatever you want to do, I'll follow you. You just tell me.
[ He should smile more, she thinks. His happy smiles are so warm, so cute. Each one makes her heart thump a little bit harder. She doesn't hesitate and holds both her hands over one of his with a giggly grin on her face. ]
Then we will! We can do everything side-by-side from now on. For as long as you'll have me.
We can improve our parenting with the curse and see how we feel later.
[ about.. what.. about.... having their own children????????? who knows.. ]
It doesn't need a lot of care as it doesn't need to eat or anything like that, but maybe you have some ways of making it.. less miserable. It's a curse, after all. They're kind of always miserable in one way or another.
[ She looks at the worm again and another wave of guilt hits her. Here she was so unnerved by its appearance when it's been suffering this whole time?! How could she be so cruel?? ]
Ah, poor thing.
[ But! The misery of the curse worm does renew her vigor, and she leans over to hug both Toji and the worm. ]
We'll do a great job, I'm sure! In fact, I promise!

[ Well, shit. ]
I don't know if you'd call it a friend, either. It's more like.. an asset.
[ HOW CAN YOU BE SO MEAN TO WORMY?? ]
There's something special about it, and I'll show you.
[ And now.. he gets ready. He gets ready t spit the thing up, but Yor may not even realize what he's doing. ]

Okay! Go ahead.

Just a second here
Wait wait
That came out of his mouth. His mouth. The mouth for kissing her lips of multiple entendres. That mouth.
